Core Curriculum for the Palliative Nursing Assistant in Long-Term CareProject Team: Nancy Hodgson, Sheila Segal Abstract: This project seeks to enhance quality of end of life for nursing home residents and the quality of care delivered by front-line staff. Project staff have developed a Palliative Care program curriculum using evidence-based findings and national guidelines. These curricula are disseminated to front-line staff in intimate small group training sessions. The educational materials emphasize pain assessment, pain management, the use of complementary therapies and holistic care for individuals with dementia, Jewish views of death, dying, mourning.
