Volunteers at the Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life come in all sizes, ages and colors. They all share a passion for enhancing the lives of the seniors who live here.
If you are not sure how you can contribute, here are a few suggestions . . .
Friendly Visitors: read, play individual games, run group games and be good listeners.
Escorts: transport residents to and from programs, beauty shop, meals, Shabbat service.
Sewers and Menders: help repair and mend residents clothes that are still in good condition but need a face lift.
Librarians: assist in organizing and managing a library.
Multigenerational Activities: work with both children and the elderly to help prepare and run artistic programs.
Football Lovers: if you love football and munchy Sunday food and enjoy watching with other fans, help organize our Football Club.
Office Support: assist with light filing and basic office tasks including some computer work.
General Activities and Games: play Bingo, checkers, chess, gin, bridge, Mah Jongg, pinochle, Scrabble - you name it.
Yiddish Club: converse, read and listen to music in Yiddish with our residents.
