MEDICAL AND
REHABILITATIVE CARE
The Madlyn and Leonard
Abramson Center for Jewish Life has achieved a national reputation for excellence
in medical care for seniors. The Center has been a training site for physicians
seeking to specialize in geriatric medicine. And, in the early 1980s, the Center
founded one of the nation’s first community medical practices dedicated to caring
for seniors.
Today, the Abramson
Center for Jewish Life’s medical staff cares for residents located on the Center’s
campus.
Our medical staff
includes board-certified geriatricians, as well as psychologists who provide psychotherapy,
neuropsychological testing, and clinical evaluations.
Residents don't need
to travel to see subspecialists or obtain rehabilitative services. Our Medical and
Rehabilitation Suites on the second floor of Town Square provide a wide range of
services in a convenient setting, especially designed to meet the needs of elderly
patients.
The Medical Suite offers a broad array of subspecialists, including: cardiology,
dermatology, ear-nose-throat, endocrinology, gastroenterology, geriatric psychiatry,
ophthalmology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, rheumatology and urology as well as
dentistry and podiatry.
The Rehabilitation
Suite offers physical, occupational and speech therapies.
Members of the medical
and psychology department also engage in research in cooperation with the Center's
Polisher Research Institute.
A post-hospital transitional
care program provides short-term nursing, medical, and rehabilitative care to patients
who are transitioning from hospital to home.
