Nancy A. Hodgson Ph.D., RN, CS, is a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist who joined Polisher Research Institute as a Senior Research Scientist in the spring of 2001. She has over 15 years of clinical expertise in providing palliative care in long-term care and home care settings. Dr. Hodgson completed a National Institute of Nursing Research funded predoctoral fellowship in Psychosocial Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and a National Institute on Aging funded postdoctoral fellowship in the Demography of Aging at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Department of Population and Family Health Sciences. The emphasis of her program of research is the examination of factors associated with health related quality of life in chronically ill older adults and the enhancement of science-based nursing practice at the end-of-life. She is an adjunct faculty member at the Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence at the University of Pennsylvania and a Research Associate at Johns Hopkins in the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
