Charitable Donations
Our Nonprofit Status

The Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life is a private, nonprofit Jewish sponsored organization devoted to care of the aged. We provide a variety of services including nursing care, assisted living, hospice care, adult day care, caregiver services, and aging research.
The Abramson Center is certified as a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization. It is registered with the Bureau of Charitable Registration, Pennsylvania Department of State, which requires us to make the following disclosure on our fundraising materials:
"The official registration and financial information of the Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life may be obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State by calling toll-free, within Pennsylvania, 1-800-732-0999. Registration does not imply endorsement."
Tax-Deductibility of Contributions

All contributions to the Abramson Center for Jewish Life and the Auxiliary of the Abramson Center for Jewish Life are tax-deductible for IRS purposes, unless the donor receives a benefit of goods or services that are not unsubstantial. As such, contributions to special events are tax deductible for amounts over and above the value of the dinner, round of golf, etc. The Abramson Center makes every effort to apprise donors of the tax deductibility of their gifts, however, it is the donor’s responsibility to accurately reflect the value of his or her contribution for tax purposes.
Making a Matching Gift

Matching gifts are an important way for donors to increase the value of their contribution to the Abramson Center. Many companies provide matching gifts for donations made by their employees. If you work for a matching gift company, please remember to submit the necessary paperwork in order for us to claim the match, or provide us with your company’s name and we will make the request on your behalf.

The names of contributors of $25 and above may be listed in our publications. If you would like to remain anonymous when making a gift to the Abramson Center, please mark the appropriate box provided on the donation form. If you are unsure how to do this, please e-mail us at donation@abramsoncenter.org.
The Abramson Center for Jewish Life has many opportunities for giving that result in perpetual donor recognition.

How to Make a Donation

We have created this Web site, in part, to make it convenient for our donors who wish to give via credit card outside of our business hours.
We also welcome donors to make pledges and other non-credit card donations by telephone.
To make a phone pledge, please call our Communications & Donor Services department from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time), Monday through Friday, at 215-371-1881.
To direct your pledge to our Auxiliary, call 215-371-1820.
For your own protection, please do not e-mail us personal information or credit card numbers.

Timeless Cookbook Purchases
Timeless, four generations of creative kosher cuisine is a fundraising project of the Auxiliary of the Abramson Center for Jewish Life.
Proceeds from Timeless sales benefit the Center's elderly residents.
However, no part of your purchase is tax deductible, according to IRS guidelines.

The Timeless cookbook, along with shipping and handling, are taxable for Pa. residents.
Tax will be applied accordingly at checkout (Pa. sales tax is 6 percent).
Timeless is sold for $32.95 each, plus shipping and handling (see Shipping).

Refunds and Returns

All credit card orders are final.
Should a refund need to be made, it will be done by check.
We make every effort to pack our Timeless cookbooks so they arrive to you in good condition.
If you receive a book that has been damaged in shipping, please call Timeless Customer Service at 215-371-2152 for instructions on exchanging your cookbook.
Shipping

Timeless is shipped as Bound Printed Matter, with delivery confirmation, through the U.S. Postal Service.
Allow 2 – 9 days, depending on where you live, for delivery from the time your order leaves our stockroom.
Orders are normally processed and shipped within 48 hours by our volunteers.
To inquire about expedited delivery, or for orders outside the continental United States, please call Timeless Customer Service at 215-371-2152.
Orders of three or more books may be shipped by alternate means.
Shipping and handling fees will be charged as follows: $5 for the first book purchased, $2 for each additional book.
